DTC Firmware Upgrade.
The current version of DTC Firmware is v1.27. The current version of DTC Connect Freeware is V1.0.0.17. Please use these two versions together.
This procedure works for all versions of the firmware updates. This procedure works with upgrades from 1.25 or 1.26 to version 1.27.
If your version of DTC firmware is 1.24 or earlier, the wrench should be upgraded at the factory. Please call SR Customer Service at 847-455-8677 and schedule your return.
If you have version 1.25 or 1.26, you can quickly and easily handle the upgrade yourself.
BEFORE YOU START
You will need the following materials together in order to successfully complete the firmware upgrade.
- A PC with a USB port.
- The USB mini cable that came with your DTC wrench.
- Your DTC wrench.
- The 1.27 DTC version of firmware.
- The DTC Boot loader program. This program communicates with the DTC and your computer. This program can be downloaded from this page. Simply scroll down to the bottom of this page. The file name is cboot_cdc.inf
Upgrading the Firmware
- Be sure the DTC power is off. Unscrew the tailpiece.
- Launch the Boot Logger program.
- Connect the USB cable to your computer.
- Connect the min-USB end to your DTC.
- Watch the video and follow the directions.
