Radio Equipped Wireless Tools and Process Monitors

If you have an MES or some central control over your assemblies and are using torque hand tools, there are a multitude of advantages to wireless error proofing.

If you want to include ALL the assembly data getting it from DC tools has been easy. Getting that same information from analog hand tools has never been easy, until now.

We started wireless error proofing with hand tools in 1998. The technology was advanced for the time because the concept was brand new. Today that same technology and wrench combination that we had with our PTV and TCV still have a solid role in assemblies.

We've continued to advance the technology and have focused on error proofing our tools, and the assembly process. After all, what is more variable than a human.

Our wireless hand tool and process monitor systems have quickly become the staple on factory floors around the world because these systems provide:

  • Increased throughput
  • Robust process monitoring
  • Reduced rework and warranty costs
  • Data acquisition

The work completed with torque hand tools can now be controlled and the date/time stamped performance data can be included in the documentation. This simple advancement transforms hand tool technology to provide many of the same features and benefits of automated systems without the high cost. And, hand tools can go where DC tools cannot.

Flexibility and Control

In many error-proofing approaches, flexibility and control are conflicting factors. Build a robot for assembly and it will perform that function exceptionally well. Ask that robot to perform a task for which it was not created and that can be an expensive process.

Customers who use our tools get increased flexibility and control. How do we do that?

Flexibility

  • We have a variety of process monitors for different applications.
  • Work with a variety of different tool types.
  • Use of a wide variety of one-piece interchangeable heads.
  • Ethernet-enabled models work in multiple protocols.
  • Provide robust reporting of all value and/or attribute torque data.

Control

  • Determines which tool to use.
  • Determines when to use it.
  • Instantaneous reporting of results: OK/NOK and/or torque value

Sturtevant Richmont radio-equipped, professional torque tools provide both greater control and flexibility to solve your assembly challenges.

Many of our innovations come from listening to our customers and creating solutions for them. We’ve been listening to our customers for more than seventy-five (75) years. What do you need?
