Please note: Although this wrench has received legacy status, the wrench with the 6-volt battery is still a very accurate, reliable, and durable tool. While we did change the radio board from a 6 volt to a AAA-sized battery, the 6-volt radio board performance has been more than adequate for operations.
We changed because some of our global customers have a more difficult time securing the 6-volt batteries. Since we were changing radio boards we made a few enhancements to the new AAA or A3 wrench. If you have a TCV, PTV, or Global 8 set up and are using the 6-volt battery radio, radio performance and communication will continue to be as robust as it has always been.

Announcing the new SLTC 2.4 GHz A3 Preset Clicker-Type Torque Wrench. We kept the flattened case for superior accuracy, reliability, and durability. Customers tell us that this wrench holds calibration better than any other brand.
The new A3 has a new battery that lasts longer and is easier to change. We also added a new raised LED Fresnel to improve visibility when working in less than optimal positions. The AAA batteries are more readily available than are the 6-volt batteries. The AAA batteries also cost less. Some companies are seeing the savings in battery costs to be substantial. The switch to the AAA battery board is a great idea.
Have existing 6-volt SLTC FM 2.4 GHz wrenches and want to upgrade? No problem. We have retrofit kits that are easy to install in less than five (5) minutes.

A note about batteries and the SLTC FM wrench. The radios in our Exacta Series digital wrenches and our digital torque testers require rechargeable NiMH batteries. Because of a difference in the radio used in the SLTC FM wrenches, you may use either an alkaline battery or a NiMH rechargeable battery.
