ALL NEW! Introducing the 1350 Series Exacta 2 digital torque and angle wrench.

Torque and angle wrenches have become increasingly popular because they provide significantly greater accuracy in estimating clamping force from torque. Why? Because knowing the thread pitch on a fastener and calculating the degrees of rotation for that fastener once snug torque is reached, you can calculate the distance the fastener has stretched.

That stretch provides the basis for the clamping force calculation. It is so accurate that car companies have gone to torque and angle and reduced bolt size to reduce the weight of cars and trucks to get better gas mileage. That is only one assembly application. There are hundreds more!

Please Note: the Quick Change dovetail should NEVER be used with any of the adapters or extensions. This includes the J Adapter, the Y Adapter, the DIN Style Adapter, the Standard Tooling Adapter, and any of the extensions.

1350 Features

Here is a shortlist of some of the things customers love about this wrench. We've taken all the functionality of the legendary 1250 Series Exacta 2 digital torque and angle wrench and placed it in a sleeker, more streamlined body.

  • Bi-directional accuracy of +/- 2% of Indicated Value between 20% and 100% of the tool rated capacity.
  • Patented "Shear Beam" transducer eliminates lever sensitivity to produce more consistently accurate torque application.
  • Torque and Angle functionality include these operational modes: Torque To Angle, Torque and Angle Monitoring, Residual Torque, and Prevailing Torque.
  • Torque and angle can identify changing joint conditions and prevent errors.
  • To better understand torque and angle functionality, see our web page "Why Torque and Angle?"
  • The torque-only functionality includes Track and Peak modes of operation.
  • The backlit display is easy to read in any light condition.
  • Customizable color display change to inform the operator.
  • Display lights upon torque application. Turns yellow at 90% of target torque.
  • Turns green upon reaching target torque. The display turns red upon reaching maximum torque.
  • Tool emits an acceptance tone and the handle vibrates upon reaching target torque and angle values.
  • Tool emits reject tone upon reaching maximum torque.
  • Compatible with the Global 400 and Global 400mp.
  • P-Sets are set and saved via the controller. No changes can be made at the wrench level. This provides you with another level of error proofing by preventing inadvertent changes.
  • Can be used with the Patented Holding Tool Series.
  • Up to four 1350 wrenches can be used simultaneously with a Global 400.
  • Can be used in combination with the 1250 Series Exacta wrenches.
  • Wrenches are available in traditional pin and spring dovetail, quick change, and fixed ratchet models.
  • More than 200 interchangeable heads fit on this wrench.
  • The sleek and streamlined body allows access to tighter spaces.
  • Weighs less than half of the comparable 1250 Series Exacta 2 wrench.
  • Space-age gyro locks when it senses freefall to prevent damage.
  • Comes with its own blow-molded case for storage.
  • Comes with ISO 17025 Calibration Certificate from our calibration lab.

Torque Controller Compatibility

The 1350 Series Exacta 2 with the Global 400 and Global 400mp

The 1350 Series wrench is compatible with the Global 400 and Global 400mp torque controllers. These controllers are feature-rich and none of our customers use more than 30% of the functionality.

Customers love the flexibility and functionality of these controllers because even though they might be using only 30% of the controller capabilities, they are using the 30% that meets their very specific needs.

For more information about the Global 400 and Global 400mp, visit their respective pages to get an idea of all the things these controllers can do to help you create extremely consistent, high-level quality.

Battery Power is Environmentally Friendly

Since the days we opened our doors, both the Sturtevant and Richmont companies were environmentally conscious. We recycled, we conserved water, and we worked hard to reduce our carbon footprint. We still do that today.

That is one of the reasons why we build our electronics to work on NiMH rechargeable batteries. We have sophisticated electronics in our tools and torque testers. Those electronics need a stable power curve. That is best supplied by NiMH rechargeable batteries.

NiMH batteries are also environmentally friendly. After they have reached the end of their life, they can be recycled. Over the life of a Sturtevant Richmont tool, many of which last for more than 500,000 cycles, that saves a lot of battery waste.

Charging Your 1350 Series Exacta 2

Recharging 1350 Series and 1250 Series batteriesWe know that our new 1350 Series Exacta digital torque and angle wrenches will be working side by side with your other Sturtevant Richmont wireless tools. So we designed 1350 to use the same battery charger. Of course, both tools use the NiMH rechargeable battery as power.

The 1350 Series batteries a slightly different, so we designed an adapter that makes easy work of charging your 1350 battery pack. You can charge a 1250 battery and a 1350 battery pack simultaneously with no problems.

1350 Series battery charger, adapter, and battery packWe selected a "smart charger" that stops charging the batteries once they reach their full load. You can leave the recharged batteries in the charger so you can quickly change out the battery and get back to work.

The LED directly in front of each charging port in the charger blinks green when nothing is inserted. When you insert a battery into the slot, the LED turns solid red. If the LED pulses green, the battery is not seated properly. Simply reinsert the battery so you have a good connection. At that point, the LED will turn solid red. Once the battery is fully charged, the LED turns solid green.

Calibrating Your 1350 Series Exacta 2

You probably already know that Sturtevant Richmont has a 17025 Accredited Calibration Lab. You may not know that we are also 17025 Accredited for calibrating angle. And, we are also heading up the executive committee that is drafting more guidelines on calibrating angle.

You can calibrate your 1350 Series digital torque and angle wrench yourself if you have the right equipment. If you don't, we sell the proper equipment. If you want us to calibrate your tools, no problem. We are happy to do so.

If you are considering doing it yourself, these are the things that you need to know in order to get the job done right and make the most from your 1350 Series torque wrench.

First, the radio connection between the tool and the Global 400 or Global 400mp with which it is linked, must be severed. Some customers prefer to have a Global 400 in their cal lab and they use that to communicate with the tool during calibration.

If you don't have a spare Global 400 allocated to your cal lab, you can still calibrate the wrench. To do that you need the TAC CONNECT software and the SR CONNECT wireless radio interface to communicate with the wrench.

The TAC CONNECT Software is used to adjust the calibration table that is resident in the wrench. This calibration table is what keeps the accuracy of the torque and angle values that 1350 provides to the data repository.

The SR CONNECT radio interface is the wireless link between the wrench and the software. Unlike our DTC non-radio digital torque and angle wrenches that have a mini-USB port on the wrench, there is no access port.

When you order TAC CONNECT software, it comes with the SR CONNECT radio interface. If you have a larger cal lab and have two stations where you are calibrating 1350 wrenches, you can order additional SR CONNECT units.

The TAC CONNECT and SR CONNECT units are also used to calibrate the TAC digital torque and angle wrenches.

If you have a need for torque and angle accuracy but your workforce favors the simplicity of a click wrench, you may want to explore our TAC, digital torque and angle wrench. The TAC is really two tools in one. It operates like a click wrench but it provides a digital output of torque and angle values where the operator stopped pulling.
