You can find the instruction set for your LTCS preset torque wrench with a fixed square drive at the bottom of this page. The instruction set is available for download.

Please note that these wrenches click in one direction meaning that they apply and measure torque in the clockwise direction. This preset torque wrench comes with an arrow engraved on the case that calls out which direction torque will be applied and measured. You can use this tool to loosen a fastener in the counterclockwise direction, but you will NOT be able to measure the amount of applied torque.

When the wrench clicks, the designated amount of torque has been applied. Stop pulling. Continuing to pull after the wrench clicks can increase the applied torque to a value that exceeds the engineering specification.

The grip on our LTCS (limiting torque control fixed square drive) wrench may look soft, but it is both hard and comfortable. The wrench is ergonomically friendly while the handle is easy to grip and feels very stable in your hand.

This preset ratcheting click wrench comes with a dual grip configuration. It has an inner and outer grip. The inner grip is Sturtevant Richmont blue and you can see a small portion of the inner grip, giving it a stylish look.

The inner grip is made from Plastisol and has a Durometer rating of A65 +/-5/

The outer grip comfort factor owes its characteristics to the PVC Foam construction. The Durometer says it has a Shore rating A53 +/-5.

The slightly softer handle over the harder handle provides excellent grip control while making the tool very comfortable in the operator's hand.

 Applications

Preset Fixed Square Drive torque wrenches are ideal for any application where:

  • The fastener or fitting to be tightened can be engaged with a socket.
  • The same torque is to be applied repeatedly.
  • It is advisable to eliminate the possibility of having the operator set the wrong torque on the tool.
  • A limited amount of rotation (no ratcheting) is needed to achieve the desired torque.
  • High operator efficiency is needed.
  • The simplicity of operation is needed.
  • Very high durability is needed.

The LTCS-Series tools are superb for assembly applications with constant torque values and fasteners are accessible and can be engaged with a socket.

Features and Characteristics

  • LTCS-Series torque wrenches have better than +/- 4% repeatability from 20% to 100% of capacity.
  • Meets or exceeds the requirements of ASME B107.300-2010 and ISO 6789.
  • When we preset the tool to your requested torque value we include a free Certificate of Calibration from our ISO 17025 Accredited Lab.
  • The low profile of the square drive creates access where other tools cannot go. This is especially important with our larger square drives.
  • The flattened case is sideloading resistant.
  • Error Proofing By Design flattened case provides superior mechanism support that makes the wrench easier to calibrate and it holds calibration much longer than other wrenches.
  • Excellent tactile and audible pulse when the preset torque is achieved.
  • Cushion grip plus lightweight for excellent ergonomics.
  • The fixed square drive provides exceptional strength and durability. CART tool
  • The torque is preset and locked in with a special tool.
  • Torque can be set using any unit of measurement.
  • Combination Adjusting and Release Tool (CART) P/N 819117 allows the operator to easily adjust torque on all SLTC -FM, SLTC, LTC, LTCR, and LTCS wrenches.
  • Can be ordered preset from the factory or you can set the torque with your own torque tester.
  • Wrench measures torque in the clockwise direction.
