The Generation
II is a tremendous leap forward in ease of use in all areas!
Never has the integration of manual torque wrenches into automated
line control been easier.
The Generation
II uses S/R FM Switch Wrenches with their incredible accuracy,
reliability, and durability
to assure the proper torque
is available to the operator using the wrench correctly. When
the operator uses the wrench, the Generation II receives and
processes the signal from the wrench, comparing the use of
the tool against programmed standards for correct use. Immediate
feedback to the operator and the line control PLC's determine
subsequent actions. The operator can proceed to the next fastener
if the wrench use was correct, or correct the tightening of
the
current fastener if the wrench was used improperly. The operator
knows, within a fractional second of wrench use, whether they
tightened the fastener properly or not!
In addition,
the fastener count for the assembly is maintained and displayed
as a batch;
the operator always knows how many
fasteners have been correctly tightened on the assembly,
or if you prefer, how many remain to be tightened. When the
assembly
is complete, both the operator and the line controls are
notified, and the Generation II resets for the next batch.
The
greatest changes in the Generation II are in the ease of
programming and the new operating controls. A Time Between
Clicks control has been added to reduce the probability
of an operator
double-clicking the wrench on the same fastener, and a
Time Between Batches Control has been added to assure the operator
does not
inadvertently work on the same assembly twice.
With the
Generation II, programming has become a breeze! The LED Display
has been recoded to give text and status
messages
that make programming genuinely intuitive! The use of
scrolling text provides more information to the supervisor
or operator
programming the unit. In addition, 100% of the programming
is now performed from the front panel! Not merely do
you no longer
need to remove the back of the unit to program in a new
wrench, but there is a new AUTO LEARN feature that allows
you to
program in a new wrench just by activating the feature
and clicking
the wrench twice!

Features:
- Replaces
of backs up automated power tools costing thousands
of dollars more!
- Uses
S/R FM Switch Wrenches, with capacities from 50 inch pounds
to 4800 inch pounds.
- A "rolling
code" stops
crosstalk from other FM devices and FM Switch Wrenches
for other PTV-FM's.
- Counts
and displays every correct use of every FM Switch Wrench
for that individual unit.
- Notifies
the operator immediately if the wrench has been used improperly.
- Works
with up to four FM Switch Wrenches. It can even be programmed
to move among them in any pattern you select!
- Each
FM Switch Wrench has different parameter element settings,
accommodating soft and hard joint differences
and different counts for different tools.
- 100%
of the functions can be programmed from the front panel,
quickly and easily!
- 19-Pin
PLC Connector provides communication with line controls,
either for individual wrench "clicks" or
for batches, or both!
- New
Time Between Clicks timer offers reduced probability of
operator inadvertently double-clicking
on the same
fastener.
- New
Time Between Batches timer offers reduced probability of
operator inadvertently working on the
wrong assembly.
- Four
parameters with individual settings allow use of up to
four wrenches with a single Generation II
unit!
- Did
we mention it saves you thousands of dollars over automated
power tools?
